Rick Deluca on "Technology Meets Practicality!"

Rick DeLuca began his real estate career as a part-time agent and came up through the ranks. He is a respected real estate industry leader. In his first year as a full-time agent, he sold 42 homes and after that averaged over 200 closed transactions for six consecutive years. Only five years into the business, Rick bought the independent company he worked for and built it to 193 agents. Rick's 193 agents closed an exceptional 48.6 transactions per year to lead the U.S. in production according to Real Trends magazine.

Rick has helped the industry significantly, having served for 10 years as a CRS National instructor, as National CRS President in 1988 and as National RNMI President in 1992. He has been honored as Realtor of the Year by the Nevada Association of Realtors.

1. The learning curve can discourage agents from putting tools (hardware and software) to practical use, even though they are acquired to save time.
2. A variety of web sites can be used by agents to make their job easier: for example, Homefeedback.com sends automatic email messages to buying agents asking what prospective buyers thought of the property; responses are sent right to the seller, saving the selling agents time.
3. SystranSoft.com is a site that does instant translations of web sites, individual dialogue and email messagestranslations are word-for-word, so they may not be correct grammatically.
4. If you spend the money on new software or new equipment, set aside uninterrupted time to learn to use it; check into a hotel room for half a day to provide a setting where you can concentrate, or use time on an airplane to read the manual.
